I AM directed by the Board of Trade to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 24th instant, transmitting copy of a despatch, with inclosures, from His Majesty's Minister at Peking with reference to the opening of the port of Nanning to foreign trade, and, in reply, to say that the Board concur in the terms of the instructions which Sir E. Grey proposes to send to Sir J. Jordan in this connection. I am, &c.
